About Me

Welcome! I’m Alex!

I am a proud mama of two crazy little mancubs with an incredible husband! Exercise, food, family, teaching, and the journey of motherhood are my biggest passions. I’m a Jesus lover, a coffee fanatic, and thrill seeker. I am way beyond blessed in this life and sharing those blessings is one of my favorite things to talk about!

My husband and I met on a blind date. I love telling people that. Both of my grandparents met on blind dates as well. Don’t fix what isn’t broken, right? We dated for three years before he surprised me with a flashmob proposal! To say it was incredible would be a complete understatement. After a year long engagement, we were married!

Our wedding was filled with over 250 family member and friends. We danced, we sang, we ate. It was spectacular! Nearly two months after being married, we were surprised to find out that I was pregnant with our first baby! As a college soccer player, I was terrified while thinking about playing my last seven weeks of my senior year pregnant and my husband was overjoyed. After finishing my final year of soccer, student teaching, and my senior year of college, we welcomed our first baby: Gabriel.

Our first year of being married included: me graduating college, welcoming our first baby, and me starting my first year of teaching. It was a whirlwind of new events! Because of this, I felt somewhat lost for what I could to do fulfill my athleticism that was fading away as I didn’t have soccer anymore. I discovered a local run club and it has absolutely changed my life! Exercise has become my necessary mom”me” time and even my husband will ask, “Why don’t you go for a run? You seem stressed” when he knows I need it! My husband was (and continues to be) my rock through our first year of parenthood. With God’s amazing grace, we made it through and we learned more than ever how to trust God and his plans for us.

Fast forward almost three years and we have another little boy, Luke James. Both of the mancubs keep us on our toes, to say the least, and being their mama bear has been the hardest and greatest job I’ve ever had. The boys continue to join me on workouts (mostly running) and give me a greater purpose for living a healthy, happy life. Our hearts are so full and I am so excited to see what God has in store for our future!
